Enyimba FC players arrive Ouagadougou ahead of CAF Champions League in the first leg preliminary round encounter against Rahimo at Bobo-Diouslasso on Saturday.

The People of Elephant remains Nigeria’s most successful side in this competition following their unprecedented back-to-back success in the 2003 and 2004 editions, Rahimo remains an unknown quantity as far as continental football is concerned.Enyimba failed to progress beyond the group stage during their last CAF Champions League campaign in 2016 when they were edged out of the semifinal by Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa and Zamalek FC of Egypt.

Usman Abdallah who guided Enyimba to their record eighth Nigerian league title last June said they must be ready to reclaim their pride on the continent, while Pillars Pillars engage Ashante Kotoko on Saturday at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano.The CAF Champions League gets underway on Friday 9 August.
