“Everybody is a gangster until somebody dies” Naira Marley writes

Naira Marley had to clarify after he received heat for a tweet he made. 

The Nigerian singer took to X to write: “Everybody is a gangster until somebody dies.” 

His post did not go down well with many X users who interpreted it as a threat. 

He then clarified in a follow-up tweet. 

He explained that his initial post was “a phrase highlighting that people often act tough, confident, or reckless when risks are abstract, but their bravado disappears when faced with serious, irreversible consequences.”
