Ex-Chelsea striker, Alvaro Morata breaks silence on marriage split from model wife Alice Campello

Ex-Chelsea striker, Alvaro Morata, has opened up on his separation from wife Alice Campello after the pair tried and failed to rekindle their marriage.

Morata, 33, split with his Italian influencer wife Alice Campello, 30, after Spain’s Euro 2024 victory.

In August that year, the pair announced they were going their separate ways seven years after tying the knot.

Morata and Campello rekindled their relationship last January but have since split again, with reports having circulated that they have been living apart in Milan.

Reflecting on his marriage, the Como striker, on loan from AC Milan, confirmed that their marriage is over – citing that they ‘don’t understand each other’.

‘We are suffering because we are two people who love each other, but we don’t understand each other ,’ he told Alexia Rivas, a contributor to the program Fiesta.

‘Alice isn’t having a worse time than me because many people say she’s the one who’s hurting. I want to make it clear that we’re both hurting, it’s not that she’s bitter, we’re both hurting.’

Last month, Spanish magazine Hola reported that Morata had moved out of the family home he shares with Campello and their four young children – Alessandro, Leonardo (twins), Edoardo, and Bella.

Despite living apart, the duo are said to have maintained a cordial relationship for their children.

In the midst of their break-up, Spanish reports claimed that Morata had an affair with Elena Sirigu, a sports management expert.

In relation to those accusations, Morata hit out at those rumours as untrue and that those fabricating them ‘have no heart’.

‘No special friend or anything like that, I’m not interested in that right now,’ he continued to Fiesta.

‘The day I have a special friend, I’ll walk around with her normally, and you’ll see.

‘People who claim there are third parties involved in a separation like this, especially with children involved, simply have no heart.’
