Former Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon has aimed a sly dig at Florentino Perez and Zidane following the recent slump of the club.Calderon was blunt in his opinion as he claimed that Real Madrid is yet to recover from the exit of Cristiano Ronaldo last summer.The former Los Blancos president reacted after Real Madrid suffered a heavy defeat against Atletico Madrid in the pre-season friendly clash in the USA.

Speaking of Ronaldo’s departure to Juventus, Calderon stated: “The importance of players like Ronaldo, it’s not just the goals they score and the way they perform. It’s also the force they transmit to the teammates.”That’s why Real Madrid is now suffering so much from the president’s historical mistake when he decided to get rid of him.”He continued: “Cristiano Ronaldo was so important for Real Madrid that he could cover all the structural failures of the club, including having a construction engineer as a football director, a coach who came from a club of third level and no game plan.”
