The English Football Association (FA) has reportedly made contact with Wayne Rooney after the latter admitted to have worn longer studs in the match against Chelsea in 2006 ‘so that he could hurt someone’.

Recall that Rooney, now a manager at Derby County had claimed that Chelsea’s superiority over Manchester United back then frustrated him to the point that he had to change the stud length of his boots for their Premier League clash.
Rooney was quoted was as saying: “I changed my studs before the game.
“I put longer studs in because I wanted to hurt someone.
“If Chelsea won a point, they won the league. At that time, I couldn’t take it.
“The studs were legal. They were a legal size. But they were bigger than what I would normally wear.”
To this end, reports now say the English FA will be investigating the claim made by Rooney after recently contacting him.
Worthy of mention, the said clash between Wayne Rooney’s Manchester United and Chelsea saw the striker make a rough tackle just seven minutes into the game which left John Terry down on the pitch in need of treatment while a stretcher was brought out.
