African fabrics always give life to any design and the new Spring/ Summer 2016 lookbook titledNew African Aesthetic, released by multiple award winning Angolan fashion brand, Rose Palhares, is evidence of this beautiful energy and glamour that the fabrics create.The collection features pieces made with a beautiful mix of African fabrics. The color palette is wide as we see pink, blue, green, white hues among many others.
Each look is made more African due to the native hairstyles sported by the models – bantu knots and a beautifully braided hair dos
Rose Palhares, who is known in her home country as “The Fashion Princess”, is the winner of multiple awards including “Fashion Designer Of The Year 2013” through a public vote held by Moda Luanda. Most recently, she has been chosen to represent Angolan culture at Milan’s Expo 2015 alongside a few other African fashion brands.
My favorite look perhaps would be the silk flowing dress with a backless torso with prints which one can see are imprints of safari animals
