With Lionel Messi’s tenure at Barcelona supposedly coming to end this summer, footage of Messi’s time at Newell’s Old Boys has resurfaced, showing the incredible talent he had at such a young age.

Every club in the world is currently on the prowl for the services of Lionel Messi.

With the Argentine handing in a transfer request earlier this week to end his 19-year stint at Barcelona, the likes of Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain, Inter Milan, and Manchester United have been interested.

However, his old club is incredibly interested in bringing Messi home.

Newell’s Old Boys in Argentina was Messi’s first club, playing there from the ages of six to 12 throughout the 1990’s. 

This is where he impressed many teams’ scouts such as Arsenal, and of course Barcelona where he joined their famous La Masia academy.

With Messi all over the news currently, a video of a young Lionel, aged eight, has gone viral. The video in question shows Messi playing in a tournament for Newell’s Old Boys and showing his insane talent.

The video shows him beating opponents for fun, scoring great goals, pulling off insane touches and celebrating wildly.

At only eight-years-old you can tell that Messi had what it took to become a massive sensation like he obviously has.

Maybe the fans of Newell’s Old Boys will get their reunion with their greeatest creation.
