Kieran Tierney has taken to social media to reveal he had a successful operation after dislocating his shoulder against West Ham.
Arsenal’s summer signing lasted just under 30 minutes after he fell awkwardly and left the pitch with his arm in a makeshift sling.
Tierney, who has struggled for fitness this season with a hamstring issue, went down under no contact following a Hammers attack.
The Scotland international, who faces three months out, was making his first start under Freddie Ljungberg having struggled with a secret shoulder injury.
And after going under the knife, the ex-Celtic left-back posted an update from his hospital bed on his Instagram story to his followers.
He wrote: “Op done. Soup terrible. Thank you as always for the lovely messages. Helping me a lot.”
Tierney has a history of a troublesome shoulder that stemmed during his time at Celtic.
He was forced to have surgery on the same shoulder in 2017 after being forced to play through the pain barrier.
