Former Super Eagles captain John Obi Mikel has reacted for the first time about the death of Nasarawa United player Chieme Martins.
The 22-year-old defender slumped and died after a collision with a Katsina United player, on Sunday afternoon but efforts to revive him by the medics was abortive as the Nigeria Football Federation League star eventually gave up the ghost before he was even rushed to the hospital.
Reacting, Mikel took to his Instagram page on Tuesday to mourn the late Martins as he shared his sympathy with the family and friends of the late Martins.
NFF have direct all NPFL clubs to ensure there is full compliment of medical equipment and personnel at all match venues not later than March 14
