Former Super Falcons forward Ifeanyichukwu Chiejine has died after a brief illness according to Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) on Thursday.
The talented footballer, who played for Nigeria at the 2000 and 2008 Olympic Games including three FIFA World Cup won and four Women’s Africa Cup of Nations titles.The country’s football federation took to its social media page to announce the sad news.
Chiejine capped 68 times by the Super Falcons, scoring 18 goals and she also played for SSVSM-Kairat Almaty in the Kazakhstani Championship, FC Indiana in USA’s W-League, KMF Kuopio and PK-35 Vantaa in Finland and Zvezda Perm in Russia over the course of her professional career.
