The embattled and suspended acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Magu has opened up about his ordeal after spending about 10 days in detention.

Recall that he regained his freedom in the evening of Wednesday, July 15.
Shortly after his release, the suspended acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), spoke to The Nation exclusively about his travails. Here are four takeaways from the interview:
Magu said he was shocked when he read the allegations against him, saying “they are nonsense”. According to him, the allegations were cooked up to tarnish his image and that of the EFCC.
Speaking in parable, Magu said what happened to him “is a case of dog eats dog”, He, however, he considered it “as one of those risks of the job”.
The embattled EFCC boss said no matter the challenges, he strongly believes the fight against corruption can be successful. He, therefore, urged Nigerians to “own the war against corruption” which President Buhari “is determined to eradicate”.
4 Not discouraged by his travails
Magu said he was happy to be released, adding that he “will forever wage war against corruption”.
“It is not a personal fight. Whether I am EFCC Chairman or not, the anti-corruption war must continue,” Magu said.
“I am happy to be back, I believe the war against corruption is winnable.”
