Fuel Subsidy removal: Mele Kyari Silent On take-off Date After Meeting Tinubu

Mele Kyari, group managing director of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Limited, has failed to elaborate on the take-off date for the removal of petrol subsidy.

The NNPC GMD spoke with state house correspondents on the need to remove petrol subsidy on Tuesday after meeting with President Bola Tinubu.

He blamed panic-buying for the queues that surfaced in parts of the country after the president’s inaugural speech on Monday.

All of us must have seen the importance of what exactly this means. And typically consumers will rush to the fuel station to fill their tanks. And that is why you’re seeing these queues,” he said.
