Gigantic tortoise found roaming freely in Maiduguri after flood (video)

A gigantic tortoise was found roaming freely in Maiduguri after flood sacked animals from the zoo in Borno State.

A video shared online shows up to five men carrying the hefty tortoise, while locals gathered to catch a glimpse and film with their phones.

The tortoise was so heavy that the people carrying it struggled to lift it and hold on to it for long periods at once.

Earlier this week, it was revealed that a dam burst due to heavy rainfall and it caused the worst flooding in recent times in Maiduguri, Borno State.

Many animals died in the zoo while others like crocodiles and snakes swam into residential areas.
