Guinness World Records has acknowledged Nigerian biochemist Oside Oluwole, for completing the longest video game marathon.
Guinness World Record, GWR, acknowledged this achievement on social media naming him as the new record holder
This record was set by 24-year-old Oluwole, who played a soccer video game nonstop for 75 hours, clocking up over 500 games.
He surpassed the previous best of fifty hours, which Englishman David Whitefoot had established in 2022
In his birthplace of Iejbu-Ode, Oluwole set out to raise money for a local hospital by taking on this task.
GWR noted Oluwole’s accomplishment and said he smashed the record considerably.
Announcing Oluwole’s feat, GWR wrote:
“Before no one in the past has broken this record by such a large margin as Oside has. It was first set in 2010 with a time of 24 hours and gradually increased to 50 hours after being beaten seven times in 11 years.”
