He carried my properties – Nigerian woman narrates how her husband left their marriage after years of supporting him financially, paying school fees, household bills

A Nigerian woman, Mercy Kalu Ebe, has narrated how her husband left their marriage, taking most of the properties she bought, after years of supporting him financially and funding his lifestyle. 

In a Facebook post on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, Mercy claimed that she gave him N10m to start up a business after their wedding and over the years kept on giving him more money but nothing came out of it. 

According to the mother of three, she took on responsibility for their home,  also financed household items, paid their children’s school fees and bought things for them.

Mercy said she ‘covered her husband’ even to the extent of buying things for the children and lying to them that their father had bought them. 

She recalled when her husband was deported and had nothing but she still married him despite warnings from her mother. 

Mercy also claimed that he sold a car she bought to their neighbour knowing fully well she would see the car everyday. 

She further disclosed that she paid the hospital bills when she gave birth to all their children. 

“I smile when people call me and text me to cover my spouse. That is not everything I post on social media. I smile. If there was an Award for covering one’s family I would have received the highest grade,” he wrote.

“My hubby came back with nothing ! He literally had no one , he was deported , he came for me , I knew he came cus he didn’t have options , my mother warned me , I just didn’t want to father diff kids , and I felt the devil I know was better than de one’s I was trying to know , because the man I was meant to marry lied to me about his marital life and tried to take my house from me simply because he contributed 1.9 mil in disguise to marry me when he came for my money,” she wrote.

I covered my hubby spent all for our wedding , yes you can mock me with that , gave him first capital 10mil to start up business to help with the family and stand back ! He didn’t make out anything over time I kept giving huge capital over time , severally and nothing came out ,he drained me and I kept pushing.

I covered my hubby to the extend if I buy things I would lie to my kids he bought them , I would hide the stuff and wait till he comes back and he would give them himself ! I have paid all my bills myself from beginning till end

He has never paid for any bill for his kids nor me ! For each time I gave birth it was my ATM at work ! I worked and accounted for my hubby for his lifestyle and one single thing he was meant to do was support ! He didn’t !

He didn’t just leave the marriage ! He carried my properties! Now tell me why a man would remove his kids foods and keep on the floor and carry the fridge ! What kind of a man does that ! Even if you bought it was ur necessary to carry it when your kids are using it ….

I’m the master of coverage ! He sold a car I bought to my neighbor. Knowing fully well I would see the car everyday. That’s the kind of man he is ,

He is the kind of man who was plotting to travel to Lagos and he told his 4/5 year sons that he is traveling and won’t be back till the grow up, who does that? 

My son Kelechi went to school and was crying his daddy have left the house he doesn’t want his mummy to leave him ; his teacher called me , I felt so bad he would do such ! 

Why not leave the house quietly without raising any Infor , he emptied his room carried furniture I paid for , why not leave your bed and and the kids won’t know wat is happening
