A river is currently on fire following an explosion which is said to have been caused by an oil pipeline or crude products in Okpare community of Delta state. According to an online report, the fire outbreak started since yesterday and is yet to put out by the officials of the fire and emergency services.

Facebook user, Ibebe Rufus Akpobome who shared pictures of the inferno, is calling on the appropriate authorities to do the needful.

Below is what he wrote;

As we speak… Okpare in Olumu Kingdom is on fire… Smoke everywhere as a pipeline or illegally refined crude products has been set on fire. This fire has been on since yesterday constituting environmental pollution to Okpare-Olomu and it’s environs.

I wish to humbly call on the government and all relevant authorities to come to the aid of the people.
