Her courage has shown us the path of truth is the only way – Zahra celebrates her mother amidst backlash over ex-First Lady’s revelations in Buhari’s biography

Zahra Buhari-Indimi, has celebrated her mother, Aisha Buhari, saying that the former First Lady has proved that the path of truth is the only way.

She stated this in a New Year message posted on her Instagram page.

This comes amid public outrage that trails comments attributed to Aisha in a newly launched biography documenting the life and presidency of her late husband, former President Muhammadu Buhari.

Critics, including political figures, commentators, have accused the former First Lady of unfairly casting aspersions on the late president when he is no longer alive to defend himself. 

Some critics went on to compare Aisha Buhari to past First Ladies such as Turai Yar’Adua and Mariam Abacha, noting that they did not publicly cast aspersions on their husbands after d3ath. 

In the message, Zahra reflected on the challenging year that included the da3th of her father and cousin, Yusuf Usman Halilu, who d!ed in an auto crash in Abuja, taking solace in her faith and family. 

“To my dearest Daddy, words will never be enough. May Allah’s Rahma and love be with you at all times. I love you and thank you for all that you have done for God and country. My dearest cousin, Yusuf, may you continue to rest in peace. We love and miss you dearly.,” she wrote. 

“To my mother Aisha Buhari, who has been the glue; your courage, unconditional love and grace has shown us that the path of truth is the only way.”
