Renowned Nigerian singer, Daniel ‘BNXN’ Benson, recently shared the story of how he briefly put his music career on hold when he gained admission to university but later found inspiration to continue from Burna Boy.
During an episode of Hip TV’s program “Trending,” hosted by reality star Kim Oprah, BNXN revealed that he took a break from making music when he started university. However, his passion for music was reignited when he began listening to Burna Boy’s songs and the music of British rapper J Hus.
BNXN also mentioned how significant it was for him when he got the chance to meet Burna Boy and, to his amazement, was signed by his mentor on the very same day.
BNXN recounted this journey of rediscovering his music career and the pivotal role Burna Boy played in it.
In his own words:
“When I got into the university, I dropped everything that had to do with music.
“What inspired me to go back to doing music was that I started listening to Burna Boy and J Hus. I started listening to real music. And I was like, I think I can do this.”
