Diane Russet, a former Big Brother Naija reality star, actress and filmmaker, has gone down memory lane.
She recounted an incident that almost ended her film career.
Diane recalled how she lost the file of one of her movie projects and had to reshot, stressing that the incident almost made her give up on filmmaking.
She explained that she didn’t quit because of the encouragement from her friends in the industry.
She narrated this while appearing on Hip TV’s programme, Trending, alongside Elozonam.
The show was hosted by another reality star, Kimoprah.
Diane said, “I usually thought that you had to go to film school, learn all the basics and all that. But they [my industry friends] also told me that you can learn on the job. So, I’m still learning on the job. It doesn’t mean I won’t go to film school. Hopefully, I will go to film school.
“I’m learning on the job and it has been exciting. They [my industry friends] keep pushing me even when I feel like giving up.
“There was one project that we lost the file, and I had to reshoot and that cost me a lot. And I remembered saying, ‘You know what? This is my last production. I am done.
“I gave up. Everytime, they [my friends] will say, ‘Just finish seeing that one, you will come back again and we will produce another film.’ So, they always keep me going.”
DAILY POST recalls that Diane’s ‘Ricordi’ won the Best Original Drama Series at the 2023 African Magic Viewers Choice Awards.
