A Nigerian Twitter user has taken to the microblogging platform to share his unpleasant experience with long distance relationships.

The man identified simply as Emeka, narrated how he had sent a cake to his girlfriend’s office to surprise her on her birthday, but the surprise eventually turned out to be on him.

According to Emeka, his girlfriend ended up sharing the cake with her office boyfriend and eventually left him to marry the same colleague.

This experience, he said, was the reason why he strongly believed that long-distance relationships could not work.

Emeka’s story came as a response to a tweet from another Twitter user who had suggested that long distance relationships only had bad PR.

But Emeka’s experience seemed to prove otherwise, and he did not hold back in expressing his frustration with the concept of long distance relationships.

He tweeted;
