A man identified as Abdulmutallab Isa has been sentenced to death by hanging.

The man was sentenced to death by the Jigawa State High Court sitting in Kazaure has on Friday for killing his in-law at Waiwalo village in Yankwashi local government.

The defendant was arraigned before the higher court for allegedly using a knife and a horn to inflict injuries on his brother-in-law, Muntari Ibrahim, which led to his death.

The presiding judge, Justice Hussaina Adamu, said the offence of culpable homicide is punishable with death under Section 221 (b) of the Penal Code Law of Jigawa State.

She said the prosecution counsel has proven his case beyond reasonable doubt and therefore sentenced him to death by hanging
