“I brought Mercy Aigbe into Nollywood” – Olaide Olabanji

Nollywood actor and producer Olaide Olabanji has publicly accused his colleague, Mercy Aigbe, of ingratitude, alleging that she turned against him after he introduced her to the film industry.

Speaking during a recent interview with media personality Oyinmomo, Olabanji claimed that he played a significant role in helping Aigbe gain entry into Nollywood.

According to him, their relationship was initially cordial, but things changed after she rose to fame.

He alleged that the actress became distant and unapproachable, adding that she eventually blocked him on social media.

Olabanji further claimed that their interactions have since been tense whenever they encounter each other.

Expressing his disappointment, the filmmaker stated that he felt betrayed by someone he once supported, accusing Aigbe of repaying his kindness with what he described as “wickedness.”

He also alleged that her resentment towards him had grown to the point where she wished him harm.

“I brought Mercy Aigbe into the movie industry. I saw her in a shop in 2004 and asked her if she could act. She said yes, and I put her on. But now she is blocking me. To her, it is as if I should no longer exist.”
