I built my music career without godfather – Davido

Notable musician David Adeleke, better known as Davido, shares his thoughts on his career achievements after hitting a significant personal milestone on Spotify.

The OBO star recently surpassed 11 million monthly listeners on the platform for the first time, following the release of his fifth studio album, 5ive.

Reflecting on this success, Davido expressed pride in having built his career independently, noting that unlike several of his peers who had influential music industry figures backing them from the beginning, he rose through the ranks on his own.

Davido however noted that his success was also due, in part, to God, and his supportive fans.

He said …

“No co-sign, built from the ground up! Just God, good music and the best fans! Appreciate you guys fr [for real]!”
