Nigerian filmmaker Kunle Afolayan has expressed frustration over the rising cost of diesel, saying it is becoming unsustainable for businesses.
In a video clip shared online, the filmmaker revealed that he spent ₦11 million on diesel within just 4–5 weeks to power operations at KAP Village, one of his enterprises.
“I have been sad because I can’t cope with ₦1,500 per litre for diesel. In one of the businesses that I run, KAP Village, I spent ₦11 million in just 4–5 weeks on diesel,” he said.
Appealing for support, he called on financial institutions and government agencies to provide loans that would allow businesses like his to upgrade their solar systems and reduce dependence on diesel for power.
