A South African pastor, Lindokuhle Sibanyoni, has revealed that he told his wife not to seek the advice or intervention of her family, bishop or the church, but instead to open a case and divorce him if he ever laid hands on her.

Sibanyoni, who disclosed this in a Facebook post on Wednesday, May 28, said he doesn’t tolerate pastors and men who abuse their wives only to mount the pulpit and speak in tongues.

“While I Was Courting My Wife And After We Got Married, I Told Her That If I Ever Lay My Hand On Her, She Should Not Call Or Run To My Family, My Bishop, Her Family, The Church Board Or Anywhere Else, But To The Police Station! Yes, I Told Her To Open A Case And Divorce Me. I Told Her That Because I’m A Disciple Of Jesus Christ And A Man Of Character. I Told Her That Because That’s What I’d Want My Daughters And Sisters To Do. I’m No Exception! I’m Not Supposed To Be Found Abusing My Wife. It’s Worse If I’m A Pastor. On The Contrary, The Church Is Very Loud On Abuse, Or Rather Could Be Louder,” he wrote.
