Former Special Assistant to ex-President, Bashir Ahmad, has reacted to a video of Abia residents celebrating as construction workers come to site for a road construction. Posting the video on his X handle, Bashir mentioned that the excitement of the residents upon the sight of Julius Berger’s concrete logo signifies good governance. He went on to mention that he understands that such incidents is not a big deal in Kano, Lagos, Rivers or Akwa Ibom.

He wrote

‘’This video of people in Abia screaming in excitement upon the sight of Julius Berger’s concrete logo signifies that good governance has indeed a profound impact on people’s lives. It’s a hopeful sign, and one can only wish that all states in the region can experience similar excitement, as it reflects the potential for positive change and prosperity in the entire region.

I understand that in many states, like my state, Kano, Lagos, Kaduna, Rivers or Akwa Ibom, this may not be a big deal.”
