“I Was 17 When I Got My First 20 Million Naira Endorsement From MTN” — Davido 

Famous Afrobeat singer Davido Adelekerecounts how, as a youngster, he managed to secure a lucrative endorsement deal with one of Nigeria’s largest telecoms companies.

The artist revealed this in a recent interview, saying that MTN was a new telecoms provider in Nigeria at the time.

Davido claims that he was 17 at the time and had written two popular songs, which placed him in the brand’s intended market.

The musician, who just dropped his fourth studio album, disclosed that MTN had once offered him an endorsement deal for N20 million.

He was able to write more songs with the money from the deal, which also aided in the debut of his first album
