Nigeria international Kelechi Iheanacho scored his fourth Premier League goal of the season on Wednesday as Leicester City succumbed to a 2-1 defeat against Everton at the Goodison Park.
It is the second time Iheanacho would be scoring against the Toffees this season, having also netted the winner in the reverse fixture at the King Power Stadium in December.
Wednesday’s effort is the first league goal for Iheanacho in 2020 though the Nigerian has netted eight times across all competition.
It was Everton that shot into the lead with a lovely goal from Richarlison after just 10 minutes and six minutes later, they doubled their lead with goal from the penalty spot through Gylfi Sigurdsson.betpayads
Nigeria international midfielder Wilfred Ndidi after a long check by VAR was adjudged to have handled the ball in the box and he was equally booked.
Recall that Ndidi was also fingered in the goal scored by Chelsea in the FA Cup quarter final tie.
While Everton could not restore their two-goal lead, the Foxes failed to get the equaliser either; a development which puts their place position in the danger with the chasing teams breathing their neck.
