A woman with three children has stirred strong emotions on social media after revealing that her 2-year-old daughter tested positive for HIV.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), she shared her confusion and pain, wondering how her daughter could have contracted the virus.

The post read: “I’m in pain… my heart is breaking. I’ve been married for 7 years, and I have 3 children. My 2-year-old child has been sick, vomiting, and crying nonstop.

“When I took her to the hospital, she was given medication, but nothing changed. I took her back to the hospital yesterday, and she was tested for HIV. Unfortunately, she tested positive.

“I was tested too, and I came out negative. I’m worried about how she contracted the virus. She’s only 2 years old. The other children are negative, and my husband is negative. Why her alone?”
