A former Nigerian lawmaker, Shehu Sani has lashed out at Indonesia after its officers assaulted a Nigerian diplomat. 

He said the Nigerian diplomat was given the same treatment police in US gave to late George Floyd during an arrest. 

Recall that in a video gone viral, a diplomat was assaulted by men said to be of the Indonesian government. The two men tortured the Nigerian as they seemed to force some information out of him. 

Condemning the act, Shehu Sani on his Twitter page said the incident was a flagrant violation of diplomatic protocols.

“The assault and cruel treatment of the Nigerian Diplomat by the #Indonesia Immigration officials is condemnable.

“A flagrant violation of all diplomatic protocols. This is equivalent to George Floyd brutality. Our friend Indonesia is wrong.”
