The Nigerian army has been tagged to a video of a woman being flogged in public by a soldier who accused her of dressing indecently.

Popular Nigerian singer and politician, Banky W while lashing out at the assault, asked the Nigerian Army if the video is fake.

He wrote, “Dear @HQNigerianArmy … is this fake news too? Soldiers assaulting young women and shaving the hair of young men… is this “photoshop” too? Cc @seyiamakinde @MBuhari”.

This comes as the Nigerian army is in the habit of terming events that happened fake when it is posted on social media. Example is that of the Lekki shooting when the army went on Twitter to say that its men were not at Lekki toll gate, but it was later found out that the army lied.
