Super Eagles midfielder, Alex Iwobi will restart the premier league season without teammate and influential winger, Theo Walcott Everton has announced on their official website.
The former Arsenal star underwent successful surgery on Monday and he is expected to miss up to one month of action for the Toffees.
The statement on the club’s official website read: “Theo Walcott is set to miss the restart of the Premier League season after undergoing surgery.
“The 31-year-old Everton forward had abdominal surgery on Monday evening, having developed symptoms following the first team’s return to training. He has now started his rehabilitation under the care of the Club’s medical team and is expected to make a return to training in four weeks.’
Everton were 12th with 37 points before the deadly Covid-19 outbreak and will hope to improve on their standing on the log when the league resumes on June 17.
