The Joint Admission and Matriculation Commission JAMB has questioned the motive of fifteen candidates of the examination who were billed to take the rescheduled examination on Saturday, May 17.
Recall that last week, the board had announced that it suffered a technical glitch leading to inaccuracy in the results of students in the five South Eastern states and Lagos.
The board then rescheduled the examination for the affected students. Fifteen of the students had left Anambra for Okigwe, Imo state to their rescheduled examination center. They sat for the examination, left the center and then went incommunicado as no one could reach them nor the teachers that accompanied them.
Many Nigerians had feared they were abducted.
However, the Imo state police command on Sunday, May 18, clarified that contrary to speculations, the students were not kidnapped. The command stated that the vehicle they boarded suffered a mechanical failure, leaving them stranded in a isolated area with poor network.
Responding to inquiries by some Nigerians via its X handle today, JAMB pondered on why the students would leave Anambra with so many exam centers for another state just to seat for the exam. The handler had described the move as ‘’suspicious’.
