“Kenya shocked me” — X user says women there don’t obsess over wigs like Nigerians do

An X user has sparked conversation after sharing her experience in Kenya.

According to her, she noticed that many women there keep their hair simple — braids, natural hair, neat and practical styles.

She said when she mentioned braided wigs to someone, the reaction she got made her pause.
“Why would I stress myself like that?” the person reportedly asked.

That moment, she said, made her reflect on how much pressure women back home have normalised when it comes to appearance — especially around wigs and constant hair changes.
