Mr Habibu Mainasara, the kidnapped provost of College of Agriculture and Animal Science Bakura, has been released by his abductors.

News of his release was confirmed by his elder brother, Nasiru Mainasara. Nasiru told Channels TV that he was freed on Wednesday night, July 14, three days after bandits abducted him from his official residence in the institution.

Details about his release remain sketchy and his brother did not disclose whether a ransom was paid.
