An article on Bridal fashion is a deviation from what I write about on a regular, but I’m super interested at the moment since I recently became all about transitioning to the new, and subscribe to the principle that states change as the only constant thing in life so let’s get right to it.
Personally, I have never had a near wedding planning experience or gone dress shopping but right from a young age I watched wedding shows on style network before it was pulled from Satellite television and recently I started watching I Do Over (A TV show that focuses on giving second chances to couples who had disastrous initial weddings) and Keasha’s Perfect Wedding Dress (A show that helps the bride-to-be find that perfect wedding dress).
It is to be noted that these shows are 5-6 years old and most brides opted for the traditional neckline which is the Sweetheart Neckline when it came to narrowing down choices up to the final pick.
This made me think a lot because brides of nowadays pick their styles farthest away from the traditional sweetheart neckline for their big day.
Bridal designers made sure to add mainstream fashion into their collections this year with trends like capes & illusion neckline, the ever winning off the shoulder trend, shoulder bows to even colours on the bridal runway and surprisingly, minimalist brides were not left out. The range of options presented by designers like Monique Lhuillier, Naeem Khan, Dennis Basso and Oleg Cassini were endless and I’m pretty sure that future brides who are fashion enthusiasts would be ecstatic because they have a wide range of fashion options at their beck and call.
I don’t know about you but I think this change is a good thing and it means the change of the world is in sync with the people in it. I feel this change is a major milestone because the evolving face of fashion transcends just mainstream fashion and has gone on to include wedding dresses which shows how in-depth the fashion penetration has become.
Brides-to-be choose more elegance and sophistication with a modern twist which enables the new bridal trends to make waves and I presume those waves to be of high tide before the middle of next year, and thrive even for years to come.
The reason for the decision of some brides to stick to the traditional neckline to me is because most ladies have an idea of how they intend to look on their big day from a very young age and that idea is nurtured to the implementation stage just to fulfill their life long dreams. I might stand to be corrected but it’s just my observation.
As a future bride, are you willing to fulfill your life long dream or follow the world of fashion as it evolves? You already know what I would do, now I want to know what your choice would be!
