Lady confesses how she fled after benefactor planned to propose

A young lady has shared a personal story about a man who sponsored her education, despite her not being in love with him.

According to her account, she met the man during her first year at the university when she was struggling financially and uncertain about how to continue her education.

She said he reassured her not to worry and promised to support her throughout her studies.

She revealed that the man consistently sent her money weekly and covered major expenses, including her school fees, textbooks, and hostel accommodation. However, she admitted that despite his generosity, she never developed romantic feelings for him and only felt gratitude for his support.

The lady explained that in her final year, the man asked her to visit him after her last examination. Sensing that he intended to propose marriage, she became uneasy about the situation.

Rather than confronting him directly, she said she told him she would come the next morning. Instead, she packed her belongings that same night and left early the following day without informing him.

Reflecting on the incident, she questioned whether her actions made her a bad person or whether she simply did what she felt was necessary at the time.

Her words…

“Sometimes I wonder if I’m a terrible person or I did what I had to do. I met this guy when I was in 100 level. I was broke. I don’t have money to continue my education. And he said I should not worry. He’s going to take care of me through my education. He’s going to pay my school fees. He was sending me money every week. He was paying for my test book, even my hostel fee. He paid for everything. The problem is that I never loved him. And I was just appreciating his good deed. On my final year, he said I should come after my last paper. And I knew if I go there, he’s going to propose. So I tell him that I will come the next morning. And I pack my stuff in the night and run away early morning.”
