The Lagos state task force has prosecuted 114 hoodlums linked to a fracas that occurred in Mushin a few weeks ago.

Following the clash between the hoodlums from Alamutu and Akala-Elegba boys in Mushin Local Government, 114 of them were arrested alongside an alleged notorious killer and rapist from the council.

The 37-year-old suspect said: “the ‘Pump Action’ guns and other weapons used during any fracas within Idi-oro, Fadeyi, Akala communities in Mushin, are in his custody of our group leader, Toba Ajiboye, the Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Obalende Unit in Mushin.”

Egbeyemi, in a statement by his Head, Lagos State Task Force Public Affairs Unit, Adebayo Taofiq, argued that the miscreants were arrested to ensure Mushin remain peaceful and continuously serve businessmen and residential purpose

The chairman disclosed that Magistrate Tosin Ojuromi had after the prosecution of 36 hoodlums arrested during the fracas, ordered that the law enforcement agencies should ensure lasting peace in the communities.

Magistrate Lateef Owolabi of the Lagos State Mobile Court who prosecuted these newly 114 arrested miscreants/hoodlums at Oshodi, however, sentenced each of them to one-year in prison each with N70,000 as an option of fine after they all pleaded guilty to the 3 counts charged interpreted in different languages to them.

Registrar of the Lagos State Mobile Court, Olanrewaju Jamiyu, explained that the judgement was to send a signal to other notorious miscreants and hoodlums across the entire State to shun violence and other criminality activities.
