Lawyer Assaults His Client’s Ex-husband In Court

There was palpable tension at Milimani Law Court’s family Division on Wednesday, November 16, as a lawyer assaulted a businessman whose ex-wife has sued over child upkeep.

Robert Asembo who was representing a lady who is also a government employee, assaulted the former husband of his client with blows and kicks outside the presiding magistrate’s Robert Mbogo chamber.

Asembo’s client was demanding over Ksh600,000 in child upkeep from the businessman.

The fight broke out as they waited outside the corridors, shortly after the lawyer accused the businessman of inviting some media personnel to cover the matter to the detriment of his client.

After the assault, Asembo, who is a former AFC chairman and former FKF Vice-chair, immediately left.
