The celebrations have only just begun, but Liverpool must still consider the future.
As one of the most dominant Premier League sides in the competition’s history, it seems there are very few weaknesses in Jurgen Klopp’s starting XI.
Adding depth to certain areas of the squad, though, is the priority for the Reds. The front three, specifically, needs some reinforcement, with Mo Salah and Sadio Mane set to head off to the Africa Cup of Nations midway through next season.
Here we take a look at some of the latest transfer news at Anfield.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has admitted Jadon Sancho “would look very good” in a red shirt.
The Borussia Dortmund winger has been linked with a move to several top clubs, including Manchester United and Chelsea, having excelled in the Bundesliga.
Sancho, who has scored 20 goals and provided 20 assists this season, has also been the subject of speculation over a potential move to Anfield, although Klopp has expressed doubt over the chances of that this summer.
“A red jersey would look very good on Jadon Sancho,” he told Bild. “But I don’t think such a transfer will take place this summer.
“He is a very interesting player. If he moved to Liverpool, I would be the most surprised of all.”
Wolves winger Adama Traore has said those hailing his performances this season are “wrong”.
The 24-year-old has been linked with a move to Liverpool after taking the Premier League by storm.
His explosive pace has caught the eye, but Traore himself has insisted that there is more to come.
That claim will excite Liverpool fans, although Wolves are expected to demand more than £70m for their star winger.
“I’ve been working with the gaffer and if I can give the best of myself, my quality in different positions, then it makes me a better player,” Traore said.
“I’ve been playing wing-back, it isn’t my natural position, but I’ve been playing there and give the best I can. The gaffer has been helping me and for me the important thing is to be the best I can be, to keep growing.
“I know also people have been saying I’ve had the best season – well for me it is wrong. I think the best season is still to come.”
Liverpool owners FSG may be unwilling to make any big moves in the transfer market this summer.
That is according to journalist Duncan Castles, who has claimed the club do not think it is necessary to invest in the squad given this season’s dominance.
The Reds are 23 points clear of Manchester City and wrapped up the title with seven Premier League games still to play.
Castles told the Transfer Window podcast: “I think the issue they face here is that Fenway Sports Group are looking at 23 points ahead at the moment, they’re looking at the potential of putting a record points total up in the Premier League.
“And they’re saying: ‘We’re miles better than the opposition, we won the European Cup last year, we’ve invested a lot of money in the squad, we’ve pushed the wage bill up and up and up, we’ve been hit by Covid-19 and we’ve said that our finances are in danger by Covid-19. We tried to furlough our non-playing staff as a way of insuring against that, we don’t really need to spend, we don’t really need to invest’.
“’Even if Jurgen Klopp is telling us that is what he wants to do, do we really need to push it as far as the manager is telling us? Because we’ve got more headroom from what we see as performances on the pitch and results in the league table and we can afford to be a little bit less indulgent of the manager and less indulgent of recruitment as we have been in the past’.”
