Her comments come amid ongoing conversations about modern relationship expectations, particularly among young adults redefining independence and partnership.

Similar debates surfaced in 2023 when discussions around “soft life” and financial independence dominated social media platforms.

“Anything shared with a man is not princess treatment. If he gets an apartment and you’re both living there, even if he’s paying the bills, that’s still not it because he’s benefiting too. I don’t want to wake up to a man in my space, hearing him brush his teeth or make coffee—it irritates me. That’s not the kind of life I want,” she said.

Defining luxury and independence in relationships

The woman further explained that her definition of luxury in a relationship centres on independence, personal space, and financial autonomy. She insisted that true “princess treatment” means receiving benefits without compromise or shared obligations.

“Princess treatment is when a man gets you your own place in your name without living there. Even vacations don’t count for me because if I travel with a man, I’m tied to him and his expectations. That’s not freedom. Either fund my trip or let me be. If he can’t do more for me than I can do for myself, then it’s not worth it,” she added.
