Former Chelsea and Arsenal defender David Luiz is set to become teammate with Simy Nwankwo and Joel Obi at newly promoted Salernitana.

The Serie A new comers will sign Bayern legend Franck Ribery on Monday and are now attempting to court Luiz, who has also been linked with Maurizio Sarri’s Lazio.

Salernitana confirmed a basic agreement has been reached and Ribery is set for a medical on Monday, before putting pen to paper on the one-year contract.

And according to Sportitalia, the club are not only focused on Ribery as they are also in preliminary talks with Luiz.

A meeting is planned with the former Brazilian defender’s agent over the next few days.

Luiz is currently a free agent and is waiting for offers from Europe before he accepts the bid from Flamengo.

Lazio have also shown an interest in the 34-year-old, who would reunite with coach Sarri after their time together at Stamford Bridge.
