Lukaku rejects Napoli’s No. 9 shirt out of respect for Osimhen who is set for Galatasaray move

Romelu Lukaku has chosen to honour Victor Osimhen by declining Napoli’s offer to wear the No. 9 shirt.

The former Chelsea man, who joined the club at the end of the summer transfer window rejected the shirt, despite being informed by Napoli that the iconic number was available.

He has reportedly, opted for the No. 11 jersey as a mark of respect for Osimhen.

Osimhen, who was removed from Napoli’s Serie A squad over the weekend following a dramatic failed transfer on deadline day, is still regarded as the rightful bearer of the No. 9 shirt, despite an imminent loan move to Galatasaray.
