The Ligue 1 match between Lyon and Marseille has been suspended after Dimitri Payet was hit with a water bottle.

The referee called time on the game, poised at 0-0, after just five minutes.

The Marseille midfielder is understood to have received medical treatment after he was hit on the head by a full water bottle which was thrown from Lyon supporters in the stands.

Payet has returned to the dressing room along with the rest of the Marseille team. The Lyon squad has followed suit.
