Manchester City have been rated the best team in the world while, Manchester united are the 34th best team behind the likes of Young Boys, PAOK and Eibar, MySportDab reports.
Football analysts at FiveThirtyEight have released their latest rankings of professional football clubs across world based on a highly-detailed index.
The rankings take are based on a team’s overall ability which have been calculated with an offensive and defensive rating, which is then used to calculate a Soccer Power Index (SPI).
Manchester United find themselves in 17th position behind the likes of German sides RB Leipzig and Leverkusen and also several of their Premier League rivals.
To make matters worse for United fans, rival’s Manchester City and Liverpool are both in the top three with their cross-city neighbours leading claiming the topspot.
Bayern Munich, who hold second place, are deemed to have the best attacking rating but a slightly worse defensive rating than City sees the Citizens take the No.1 ranking.
The other Premier league teams who have fared better than United are Chelsea, who are currently in sixth and Tottenham, who are in eighth place.
Red Devils fans can take comfort they are just above Arsenal and Everton who are 18th and 19th in the rankings respectively, with Leicester City being the only other English team in the top 30 at 26th.
Before a season begins, a team’s SPI ratings is based on two factors: their ratings at the end of the previous seasonand the club’s market value.
