Man drags internet provider for wiping 23GB data in 24 hours

A Nigerian man has called out a certain internet provider, accusing them of theft after over 23GB disappeared from his data balance within 24 hours, despite only using his phone.

This was contained in a lengthy post he shared on his page via a popular social media platform, X (formerly Twitter).

According to him, he had subscribed to a data plan months ago, but noticed that his data began to deplete rapidly, even though he wasn’t streaming movies or engaging in any heavy data-consuming activities.

Earlier, he had taken to his page to express his frustration over how fast his data was vanishing, saying:

“You are criminals!!!! Another update! I just checked my data usage on my laptop for the past 30 days! I only use my laptop and my phone — nothing else! My laptop has only used 19.83GB! Are you telling me I used over 290GB on my phone in February???”

In another post, he further lamented the situation, adding:

“Update!! I didn’t watch any movies, didn’t connect my MiFi to my laptop for anything! Just my phone!! Less than 24 hours and they are saying I’ve used over 23GB! You are robbers!!!!!”

As his posts circulated online, concerned individuals flooded the comment section to share their thoughts and similar experiences.
