A 38-year-old man, Adesile Mayowa, has been sentenced to three months imprisonment by an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court for stealing packs of bottled water.

The chief magistrate, Mrs Titilayo Ola-Olorun, sentenced the convict who pleaded guilty to the offence. She, however, gave the convict an option of N10,000 fine.

The police prosecutor, Insp Johnson Okunade, told the court that the convict went to the shop of one Alhaji Babalola Isiaka and stole six packs of bottled water.

The magistrate ordered the convict to be remanded in custody until he pays the fine.
