A 26 years old man, Edirin Tudarho, who allegedly stole a generator belonging to a Church, was Monday arrested by Aladja Community Vigilante in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State. The suspect was said to have succeeded in stealing the generator from one of the branches of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, at College Road, Aladja, owing to the recent inter-communal crisis between the community and her neighbouring Ogbe-Ijoh, which drove many from their homes. He was arrested while on his way to selling the generator in Warri. A resident, who spoke to Vanguard said the suspect burrowed a hole at the back of the church, which is still under construction before stealing the power generating set. Some members of the church who spoke to Correspondent expressed shock at the development saying, “the guy no fear God at all.” One of the Vigilante members, who spoke with our correspondent on condition of anonymity, said “the suspect will be handed over to Police to be dealt with in accordance with the laws to serve as deterrent to others and as well rid the Community of criminals.” The President of Aladja Community Vigilante did not pick phone calls put across to him for comments as at the time of filing this report.
