Middle-aged Igbo man graduating from University of Derby goes viral over traditional Igbo handshake on stage (video)

An Igbo man has gone viral after a video from his graduation ceremony was shared online. 

The man, who wore a traditional Igbo attire, was called to receive his certificate following his graduation from the University of Derby. 

However, when he mounted the stage, he rejected the regular handshake. 

When a university staff, who is Caucasian, tried to shake his hand, he refused and opted to teach the man how to do the Igbo traditional handshake.

Other university staff can be seen watching the handshake with keen interest and smiling.

The video has gone viral, with many hailing him for being proud of his heritage.
