The AC Milan management have held talks about a potential proposal to their players regarding a salary reduction during the ongoing Coronavirus emergency, a report claims.
Football has taken a back seat as the world continues to try and fight the COVID-19 outbreak, with Italy in particular having been hit very hard by the virus.
Nonetheless, in the background there continues to be discussions about what will be done regarding the salaries of players and staff while games and training are suspended.
MilanNews reports that regardless of the collective negotiation that is taking place between the 20 Serie A clubs and the AIC – in which there are quite a few difficulties – Milan have been studying their own internal proposal to cut wages until play resumes.
The round table is composed of president Paolo Scaroni, CEO Ivan Gazidis, technical director Paolo Maldini and the Cantamessa law firm, which has already taken care of the legal aspect of the negotiation between Silvio Berlusconi’s side Monza in Serie C and its players.
The parties are working out the different scenarios to be submitted to the players and also any recovery talks after the end of the emergency. So, while waiting for Lega and AIC to find a balance, Milan are working on a home-made solution to be offered to the players.
